Total asset management aligns processes, resources and functions to deliver integrated vessel acquisition, maintenance and operations management. Ongoing monitoring of processes and outcomes, at every stage of vessel acquisition and through-life support, creates an auditable trail of actions and results. The asset knowledge that accrues advises continuous improvements in design and build management, maintenance planning and logistics support. In combination, total asset management services achieve the benefits of effective life cycle management: reduced support and maintenance costs efficient operational and maintenance programming, and maximum availability and reliability within a program of continuous improvement.
As total asset management experts, our cradle-to-grave vessel services integrate vessel design and construction with maintenance and vessel operations. Our in-house naval architects and marine engineers work with ship builders to ensure full compliance with customer expectations, international standards, and SOLAS, MARPOL and Classification Society requirements. Our in-service support and integrated logistics management is supplemented by a technical support network of proven suppliers, original equipment manufacturers and international agents, all managed through Serco Systems’ supplier qualification program.
DMS Maritime’s integrated systems are complemented by web-based applications which give our customers access to job, invoicing and payment processing information. Project, risk, quality, safety and environmental management expertise underpins all maritime services.
Vessel design, construction and through-life support
The Australian Government selected DMS Maritime as the prime contractor for building and managing the Navy’s 14 Armidale Class Patrol Boats. We delivered all 14 vessels to the Navy within four years, completing one of Australia’s most successful vessel construction programs for defence and setting a record pace for peace-time shipbuilding. We now provide ongoing in-service support for the patrol boats.
DMS Maritime and the RAN celebrated HMAS Glenelg’s operational release, a significant milestone for the Armidale Class Patrol Boats program and one which confirms that the Chief of Navy approves the vessel for full operations.
